About Me
I am committed to excellence, professionalism and individuality in my work with clients, as the following colleagues have observed:
“Deema presents to me as enthusiastic, competent and professional. She is entirely ethical, and is aware of and observes good boundaries and confidentiality.”
“Her empathy for her clients is evident; as is her desire to provide a professional counselling relationship.”
“At times, she will work in a more intuitive way, establishing relationship and facilitating change by means of the client’s own problem-solving skills, whilst at other times she will make specific use of CBT theory and practice, enabling the client to understand the reason for their difficulties, and offering techniques to effect change for themselves. “
I feel privileged to have studied Person Centered and Integrative Counselling at certificate level, which founded me with an increased level of self awareness and grounded me in empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence. My work with clients tries to be client lead and my aim is always to empower clients to help themselves.
More recently, my training to work with children and young people has broadened the base of clients and conditions that I am now able to offer help to. |

| Studying Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at diploma level has given structure and focus to my work with clients and helps me to make sense of the problems that are being presented. I am also widely read and can borrow techniques from other sources, but I never propose and activity that I haven’t first tried myself!
As a member of the BACP I abide by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and as a practising Christian, I am also able to facilitate an exploration of spirituality and intuition in my work with clients.
I am fortunate to have the experience and support of two supervisors and continue to learn from their expertise, and from the experience of colleagues ond training programs.

About Well Waters
Well Waters was founded in 2010 as a means of providing access to local counselling and CBT to the rural communities of South Worcestershire.
The name ‘Well Waters’ came as a result of a spiritual exploration of the symbolic use of water in the bible. Water is used to give life – nothing can live without water – and this is spiritually translated when Jesus calls himself the water of eternal life (John 4). Those who are in Him can also have access to this life giving water and pass it on to others. (John 7:37-39)
In addition, people were given new life by passing through waters (human birth, the Israelites and the red sea, and baptism). Water is cleansing, and in the bible is also used as a means for God to heal. (2 Kings 5, John 5, Hebrews 10:22)
The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. (Isaiah 58:11) |
